Welcome to the 2008 ‘Homicide’ Conference

The Rocky Mountain Information Network (RMIN) and the New Mexico Sheriffs and Police and Association (NMSPA) will co-host a three day Homicide conference dedicated to numerous topics related to cases, prosecution and analysis of investigations surrounding murder. The RMIN and NMSPA have acquired several instructors who are recognized nationally and internationally for their expertise in homicide. The conference and its breadth of classes and discussions gives investigators a beneficial chance to learn and expand your horizons. Featured Speakers

Matthew Chandler - The district attorney for the 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office in New Mexico will present case preparation and prosecution as it relates to recent high profile homicide cases.

Charles Schoville - Chuck is a nationally recognized expert in gangs and gang homicides, the president of the Arizona Gang Investigators Association and will present street gang homicide investigations.

Sgt. Brad Maskell - Brad, with the Kootenai County (ID) Sheriff's Office, was the lead investigator on the Groene abduction homicide case.

John J. Guzman - John is a certified forensic interviewer for Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates in Albuquerque and will present forensic homicide interviewing.

Dr. Laura Fulginiti - Laura is a forensic anthropologist with the Maricopa County (AZ) Medical Examiner’s Office in Phoenix and Scene response, Analysis of unknown human remains, interpretation of traumata in bone and cremation analysis.

Dr. Mark Fischione - Chief Medical Examiner for Maricopa County (AZ) Medical Examiner’s Office. Mark is a nationally recognized expert on "Mechanisms of Injury."

 There will be homicide case studies that will be presented, with emphasis on the management of the high profile cases, and on "lessons learned" during the investigations.
